Best video of 2009 thus far

Matt & Kim debuted their video for Lessons Learned today. It's pretty much the best video ever if you enjoy watching naked bodies in a see of people, location Times Square.

i can't tell if this is a good or bad review... but i certainly do agree meow to kim in her boi undies and knee socks sexy sexy.

"Dear Matt & Kim: If there was anything you could do to "push away" the cute factor, the above video for "Lessons Learned" that premiered today on MTV is it. Streaking in Times Square, ogling the tall buildings like you're newborn aliens, and then having a cop throw Matt to the ground and wail on him--you win. You're not cute, you're law-breaking exhibitionists, and you will go down in history as the nudist Bonnie and Clyde. Can't say this is going to help with the dirty fantasies, but from now they're just going to involve Kim in knee socks."

I'd Bat For Lashes any day!

So I heard of Natasha Khan and her one women band, Bat for lashes, for the first time years ago in an article in Under the Radar Magazine( an excellent mag btw). I remember reading about her and being impressed before i even gave her a listen. I was dazzled by Kahn's creative process, and her intentions for her first album, Fur and Gold, which were to create a mystic realm of fairy tale creatures that mirror back to us the spectrum of human emotion and existence.
I was even more impressed to find that upon listening to the album that i had such high hopes for I wasn't the least bit disappointed. Fur and Gold struck me as a profound album that focused on duality. It has the feel of a modern day fable, and was definitely on serious blast in my itunes. My favorite track was "Priscilla", its simplicity and Kahn's fluttering and compelling voice were a couple that were hard to ignore in this track.

Kahn's latest Album, Two Suns doesn't disappoint either. In fact, i believe her to have gone above and beyond what she set out to accomplish in her first album. Two Suns is scheduled to come out April 4th and i know i know its supposed to be bad to listen to leaks .. but i couldn't help myself. Natasha is just sooo good at what she does. Here is a sample of the album. The title for this track is Daniel... it speaks for itself.

If you like what you hear keep bat for lashes in mind and buy the album on April 4th!

It's been a while

First off i have to say, Happy New year!

I'm really quite sorry that it has taken me so very long to get my iish together. I'be run into some money problems and as a result i am hoe full time looking for a job, instead of miles away at school learning about the environment and all that good stuff.

I'm posting this entry as a promise that i will start blogging again ...with better writing.

until then here is a video to tide you over. It's featuring Lykke Li, one of my favorite artists to make a debut in 08'. This was one of the first tracks she recorded and i really appreciate it's nakedness.

All I want for christmas

While the title is reminiscent of Mariah Carey's song by the same title, get that out of your mind! The yeah yeah yeahs have released a new Christmas track on their myspace page. This song is so darling. I thought i was completely jaded to Christmas, viewing it as a consumer frenzy of which all sentimentality has decimated . However, this track did manage to break my shell a bit :) Karen O coos "fa la la la la la"s to sleigh bells and shivery guitar. It's magical. She chants"My only Christmas wish is for you to be here,"... and i believe her!

Check this song out! You'll be glad you did!

PS. I'm going to take a breather until the New Year guys! Hopefully i'll be returning with a new banner and some followers! Till then....

Happy Holidays Folks!!!!!
